Dal soup is one of my favorite Indian food.
My favorite part of making dal soup is when you pour the piping coconut oil to the soup, the delightful smell spreads throughout the kitchen ️Oh what a pleasure
Dal soup:
1 soak Chana dal half day
2 drain water, and rinse
3 put Chana dal into a pressure cooker, add water, set timer for 7min
4 when the pressure settles down, remove the lid, add diced carrots, turnip leaves, curry powder (cumin, turmeric, coriander, cayenne), sea salt, cook until carrots are soft
5 in a small pan, heat coconut oil, add curry leaves, minced ginger, mustard seed
6 pour coconut oil to the dal soup (yes, my favorite part!!)
7 serve with cumin seed rice, and pickled cabbage
Smells heavenly and tastes so good!!
